Jenny Tasidoy has dominated Greek women’s amateur boxing for nearly a decade now (April 2012), winning a title every year at either 54 or 57 kilograms. The fact that the Greek federation often take only one contestant to major competitions has limited her international achievements, although the World Championships in Barbados in 2010 proved that she is one of the best at her weight in the world.

Describing herself as ‘a tomboy’ when young, Jenny was stimulated by the fear and adrenaline of the fight-game to start training at the age of 22.
A year later, in 2004, she was winning her first fight in an inter-club tournament and then becoming Greek champion by defeating three opponents.

In total Jenny Tasidoy has had 80 fights, with 75 wins, and all her five defeats have come against non-Greeks in major international competition.
In 2009 she gained five wins at the European Championships, but her single defeat deprived her of the gold medal. However, the event to which her mind always returns is the 2010 Worlds in Barbados when, after a first round bye, she defeated a Canadian and an Australian to reach the semi-final and lose to a Hungarian in what is generally seen as a travesty.

But, when the Greek championships come round in November,
Jenny Tasidoy’s name will be missing from the list of winners for the first time since 2003 as she is turning away from the amateur ranks. She plans her first professional fight in Greece in June before taking up an offer for a series of fights in France in September. Billionmore wishes her every success in this new venture and is delighted that her friend Maria Pantazi has introduced her to our website and the Hero brand.
