SPORT NEWS 34:

Muay Thai Martial Art I

In the present, Muay Thai Material Art is very popular in the world and there are many people who like to practise Muay Thai. For this reason, I would like to explain the ancient postures of Muay Thai Martial Art.

There are many postures of Muay Thai Martial Art so I would like to divide this article into several chapters. In Muay Thai Martial Art I, there are six postures of Muay Thai that can divide into attack and defense parts.

There are some ancient postures of Muay Thai Martial Art that are rarely found in the present. Therefore, I would like to explain some Muay Thai Martial Art to you and the way to practise it.

Defensive Postures:

1. Salap FanPla

Outside Defense:

This posture defends against the punch of an opponent when that punch is launched to a face.

Attack: launch a left punch to the face of the opponent while stepping forward with your left foot.

Defense: Backward right foot into right side while bending the body down into right side. The weight should transfer to right foot. The head and body should escape from the attacker’s punch.

2. Chawa Sat Hok

Inside Defense:

This posture defends against the punch of an opponent and counterattack by elbow.

Attack: launch a left punch to the face of the opponent while stepping forward with your left foot.

Defense: when the opponent steps closer, throwing a straight left to your face, you could counter by leaning the body away to the left of the opponent to avoid the punch with your knees slightly bent. Then the target around the body of the opponent will be exposed, strike Sok (elbow) to the ribs. The more the opponent throws his weight behind the punch, the more powerful will be the impact of Sok.
